York Residents Against Incineration

Decision delayed – again!

August 30th, 2010

The NYCC decision has now been put off at least until November. The report on the PFI bid isn’t expected to go in front of City of York Councillors until Novermber or December.

Meanwhile the new government is asking for views on waste strategy, as they continue taking their enormous cutting scissors and red crayon to all that has gone before. So this could further undermine the proposal.

Respond to the DEFRA consultation urgently and pass this on to others who might do likewise!

The online survey invites comments on ways to reduce and manage waste; in particular this survey wants to know what people think about Waste Incineration. I would urge you to go to this website and complete the survey as a matter of urgency as it closes on 9th September 2010  – The survey can be found on the DEFRA website or at surveymonkey.

The deadline for responses to the York / North Yorks consultation in now November 12th.
